HAVE A QUESTION?

How do I set up an AppsFlyer integration for my self-serve account?

For AppsFlyer integrations, there are a few extra steps you’ll need to do once you receive your AppsFlyer Tracking URL from your designated AppsFlyer representative.

By default, the AppsFlyer Tracking URL will only be driving to the App Store or Google Play Store. If you’d like to track a different page (such as an editorial post or review about your app), read on!

Step 1:

First you’ll need to adjust the URL so that it redirects to your chosen landing page.  You’ll then take that new link and add it as content to your campaign.

This adjusted URL must contain 3 parts:

1.) The AppsFlyer App URL

(i. e. https://app.appsflyer.com/id1234567)

2.) ?&af_r=

This is the redirect parameter that will signal that we’re redirecting to a different page.

3.) The URL of your landing page

(i.e. https://contentpage.com)

All together it should look something like this:

https://app.appsflyer.com/id1234567?&af_r=https://contentpage.com

You’ll need to submit this as content for your mobile campaign on your Dashboard.

Step 2:

The second thing you’ll need to do is implement your tracking code into your Campaign Settings.

The tracking code will contain everything in your provided AppsFlyer tracking link AFTER the Question Mark.

For example, if your AppsFlyer tracking link is:

https://app.appsflyer.com/co.myappdownload.app?pid=outbrain_int&af_click_lookback=7d&c=[campaignname]&clickid={{ob_click_id}}&af_ad_id={{ad_id}}&af_siteid={{section_id}}

Your tracking code will be:

pid=outbrain_int&af_click_lookback=7d&c=[campaignname]&clickid={{ob_click_id}}&af_ad_id={{ad_id}}&af_siteid={{section_id}}

You’ll want to copy your tracking code into your Campaign Settings under the Tracking section:

Once both steps are completed, you’ll be all set!

Please note that you’ll want to create separate campaigns for each Mobile OS that you’re targeting to ensure that they are tracked correctly! We do not recommend targeting both Android and iOS in the same campaign!
