North Dakotan Audience Consumed Least Amount of Oscars Content

The TV viewership for the 2014 Oscars showed the best ratings since 2000, but in the weeks before the show, levels of interest across the U.S. were far from equal.

Based on our analysis of Oscars content consumption on the web, data suggests that people in large metropolitan areas – New York, Chicago, L.A., and Washington, D.C. –have the most interest in what the Academy has to say about this year’s films.

On the other hand, North Dakotans and West Virginians were least interested. Little did they know they would be missing this century’s greatest selfie or Brad Pitt with pizza cheese hanging from his mouth.
