Outbrain caught up with Pedro Muñoz as he joins the Outbrain team in the Spanish heartland of Madrid. Taking up the mantle of Director of Brands and Agencies, Pedro joins Country Manager Lutz Emerich from Eniti Media.
We were interested to know what had brought Pedro to Outbrain’s door and here’s what he had to say:
Why did you want to join Outbrain?
Joining Outbrain is a great opportunity for me to enter the content marketing world. It is very exciting to be part of a something innovative and new, which I can grow in my own country. Outbrain offers a range of novel and powerful products that we are bringing to the market.
What is the most attractive aspect of Outbrain’s culture?
The focus on providing our clients with really great and interesting content is very attractive to me
What are the most interesting insights from your previous experience that you will bring to bear at Outbrain?
I think I can contribute to Outbrain through the contacts that I have across Spain’s top Brands and Agencies. During the last ten years I have built relationships with almost all the planners and marketing managers throughout these organisations. It’s early days, but I am already receiving their feedback and it is very positive.
Do you have any predictions for 2013 relating to content discovery and marketing?
I think that this year many brands in Spain are going to try content marketing for the first time. This is a great opportunity to position Outbrain as the reference point and expert for this aspect of the ever-expanding marketing mix in Spain.
What are some of your favourite types of content?
Music and news are my favourite types of content.
How would you summarise your background?
I am a highly analytical and commercially focused individual who loves working as part of a team and with my company’s objectives central to what I do.
What do you love about start-up organisations?
The sole possibility of bringing something new to the market – this is something that I really like about working for start-ups.
