We have some exciting news to share with you — today we’ve announced that we are acquiring a company called Scribit. Scribit (formerly Vertical Acuity) is a content curation platform that allows brands to curate long-form content from leading publications on their site. This is our second acquisition, following our purchase of Surphace from AOL in February of 2011.

Our mission at Outbrain is to delight people with great content recommendations while giving publishers and brands the ability to reach a highly engaged audience. Over the past six years, we’ve made our content recommendation platform available for nearly 100,000 publishers and bloggers. In addition, we sit in a very unique position between the brands and publishers that we work with.

Adding a content curation platform to our product portfolio will help brands develop more robust content marketing strategies and provide an additional revenue stream for our publishing partners.

Scribit’s leadership team has built a fantastic platform and shares the same vision and culture that is so important for us. We’re excited to welcome the Scribit team to Outbrain and together continue to lead the content marketing industry.
