You can send us content you've written, content that someone has written for you, or third-party content
like a blog post or article that says great things about your work. More than anything else, our readers want
to read interesting content, so please make sure that the articles you submit are just that-interesting!
Good OutLoud content might include:
- News articles
- Blog posts
- Press releases
- Product/service reviews
Whatever you submit, please make sure it focuses on readable, enjoyable content-a straight sales page or
contact form won't work, even if your CEO loves it. Readers enjoy and recommend interesting articles
more than boring ones, and the more interesting your article is to our readers, the more likely OutLoud is to
show it on more pages.
We reserve the right to reject any content we deem unacceptable, at our sole discretion, and our publisher
partners may choose not to display individual articles that we have accepted.
We strictly prohibit content that:
- is pornographic
- promotes hate, violence or discrimination
- facilitates the sale of weapons
- facilitates participation in any illegal activity (including but not limited to prostitution, the use or
sale of illegal drugs, and the illegal downloading of movies or music)
What will the links to my articles look like?
By default, we display the title of the article as a link, but we reserve the right to modify the titles to better
describe the content itself.
Can I submit advertorial/sponsored content?
Sure, but if the author was paid to write the content (or received free products or services), that relationship
must be clearly and conspicuously disclosed-burying it in a footer or FAQ page is insufficient.
In addition, the content must not employ misleading techniques, including but not limited to:
- Using trademarks/logos of known brands without their express permission
- Hosting the content on a domain that makes users believe a news organization has written it (when
they haven't)
- Using fake comments at the bottom of the content that appear to be from actual individuals; if
comments appear, comment functionality must exist to allow additional comments
Note: If you use personal testimonials, they must represent the true and honest opinion of a real person who
is not affiliated with you, or whose connection to you is clearly and conspicuously disclosed, and may not
contain claims that you cannot substantiate. Again, the main thing is that as long as the content is interesting and unlikely to mislead readers, we want it
in OutLoud!
How long does it take for my articles to be approved?
Articles will usually be reviewed by our real live human editors within two business days of submission.
Will I be notified if any of my articles are rejected?
Definitely. You will receive an email listing any rejected articles, along with the reason for their rejection.
If an article is rejected, you will not be charged for it.
